Lokring Website
2020-06-07Project Description
A quick, template-based responsive (mobile-friendly) website.
Project Goals
To provide online access to training information and registration, helping doctors to learn about an innovative medical procedure.
Challenges
The site required a registration plugin, integrated with PayPal to allow for online payments. The client also wanted a password-protected page.
Creative Strategy
The client’s timeline and budget required sticking closely to the template layout, so I took the provided information and chose existing layouts that would fit that information well. I replaced colors to match the client’s university’s branding and added stock images that I and my co-workers worked on. While a basic approach, this provided a distinct look and feel that was carried over into printed pieces and an HTML email template.
Results
The final product was a clean WordPress site which the client could edit and maintain. Registration and PayPal integration allowed doctors to register for the training with ease, and helped administration to manage those registrations. This functioned well for the duration of the trainings, and the client was able to change out the content for a more patient-oriented site upon their completion.
My Role
I helped the client find web hosting, then created a WordPress site. I located appropriate template options and presented them to the client, who made a final decision. I then installed and configured the template, adding plugins as needed. I searched for stock photos, created images tailored for the site, changed out content, and conducted browser and device testing. Once the site was finished and approved, I provided WordPress training for the client, then helped with additional support requests as they arose.
